Bobber 500 Helium 5G Gateway Launched by Bobcat Miner to Mine HNT

Bobber 500 Helium 5G Gateway, a community-driven 5G-compatible gateway created for the Helium network, is the result of a partnership between top Helium hotspot producer and FreedomFi.

The Bobber 500 Helium 5G Gateway will be released in April 2022, according to Bobcat Miner, the leading manufacturer of Helium compatible hotspots. By offering cellular and LoRaWAN radio coverage, the Bobber 500 will mine HNT money. The Bobber 500 Helium 5G Gateway will be plug-and-play compatible with all CBRS small cells that have been validated for the Helium Network, thanks to a partnership with FreedomFi and the use of their firmware.

The Bobber 500, named after the self-proclaimed “bobber” community of over 400,000 people, features an industrial-grade design with award-winning product durability and increased longevity. The Intel 10nm Atom embedded CPU, which was introduced in 2021, powers the Bobber 500 Helium 5G Gateway, which has 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.

“We worked closely with the FreedomFi engineering and security teams to ensure that Bobber 500 meets all quality and security standards required by the Helium data offload partners,” stated Yiming Wang, Bobcat Miner’s co-founder. “To provide maximum capability, Bobber 500 Helium 5G Gateway leverages Trusted Platform Module technology to offer hardware-based encryption of all data on the system.”

“We’re excited to see firms in the ecosystem like Bobcat and FreedomFi collaborate to provide decentralized wireless connectivity to anyone and everyone.” “This is just the start for Helium 5G,” said Frank Mong, Helium’s COO.

“We may have kicked off the crowd-sourced cellular concept by launching our own gateway and radio, but our ultimate goal is to enable other hardware manufacturers and small cell vendors to adopt open-source software that powers decentralized wireless architecture,” said Joey Padden, FreedomFi’s CTO and Co-founder.

“Crowd-sourced cellular will be as disruptive to telecom as the Internet was to computers,” said Boris Renski, Co-Founder and CEO of FreedomFi. “We want to be the trusted partner to device vendors and telecom operators trying to navigate this market.” “We are thrilled to collaborate with the Helium ecosystem’s #1 manufacturer to help launch Bobber 500 Helium 5G Gateway, and we look forward to a long-term collaboration.”

Bobcat Miner made its global debut as an integrated service provider enabling the expansion of the global decentralized blockchain community network on March 3rd, 2022. Bobcat Miner has provided over 240,000 hotspots to “Bobbers” around the world in just over a year. Bobcat is now the leading manufacturer in the Helium ecosystem, with a market share of over 30% of installed Helium miners.

Bobcat Miner’s Background

Bobcat Miner is a global integrated service provider dedicated to providing high-quality hardware and software products and services to support the growth of a global decentralized blockchain community network. Bobcat Miner’s Bobber line of high-efficiency miner hotspots for HNT, which was founded in 2021, is compatible with Helium LongFi, a hybrid architecture that integrates the latest wireless LoRaWAN, 5G protocols, and Helium Blockchain technology.

Concerning FreedomFi

FreedomFi is a crowd-sourced 5G small cell network deployment startup that focuses on the development of open source software and Web3 protocol interfaces. The startup, which was founded by open-source software veterans, is one of the top code contributors to project Magma, which is run by the Linux Foundation and is swiftly becoming the standard platform for crowd-sourced wireless infrastructure. Blueyard Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, and Samsung Next have invested in FreedomFi.

About Helium

Helium was a forerunner in the field of decentralized wireless networks. The Helium Network, which links IoT devices to the internet by rewarding hotspot providers to offer coverage, is the world’s first peer-to-peer wireless network. The network, which was co-founded by Shawn Fanning and Amir Haleem and is supported by GV, Khosla Ventures, Union Square Ventures, Multicoin Capital, FirstMark, and Marc Benioff, is now live in over 3,600 locations across North America and Europe, with plans to expand into Asia.
